2018 will mark the sixth consecutive year that the Las Vegas Bowl has appeared on ABC. It will be the seventh consecutive Saturday kickoff and 12th in the event’s history. It will also be the 12th time the bowl has been played in the daytime.
The Las Vegas Bowl will be heard throughout the country and overseas by Sports USA and along the American Forces Radio Network.
In May of 2001, the Las Vegas Bowl was acquired by ESPN Regional Television (ERT) — now known as ESPN Events, a subsidiary of ESPN, Inc. As part of the agreement, ESPN Events assumed responsibility for the Las Vegas Bowl’s organization, operation, sponsorship, marketing efforts and more.
In 2014, the bowl announced that it had agreed to extend its contract with both the Pac-12 Conference (sixth selection) and Mountain West (first selection) through the 2019 season. The two regional rival leagues have been facing each other in the game on an annual basis since 2001.
