The 26th edition of the Las Vegas Bowl will be played Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017, at 12:30 p.m. (PT).
Sam Boyd Stadium will again serve as the venue for the Las Vegas Bowl, which is the 16th-oldest active bowl game in the FBS lineup.
Owned and operated by ESPN Events,a division of ESPN, the Las Vegas Bowl has been held each December since 1992 and boasted sold-out attendance in eight of the last 12 years at Sam Boyd Stadium, including the second-largest team sporting event crowd in state history — 42,213 — in 2015.
The 2017 Las Vegas Bowl will feature Pac-12 vs. Mountain West.
2017 will mark the fifth consecutive year that the Las Vegas Bowl will appear on ABC. It will be the sixth consecutive Saturday kickoff and 11th in the event’s history. It will also be the bowl’s 11th day game.
The Las Vegas Bowl will be heard throughout the country and overseas by Sports USA and along the American Forces Radio Network.
In May of 2001, the Las Vegas Bowl was acquired by ESPN Regional Television (ERT) — now known as ESPN Events, a subsidiary of ESPN, Inc. As part of the agreement, ESPN Events assumed responsibility for the Las Vegas Bowl’s organization, operation, sponsorship, marketing efforts and more.
In 2014, the bowl announced that it had agreed to extend its contract with both the Pac-12 Conference (sixth selection) and Mountain West (first selection) through the 2019 season. The two regional rival leagues have been facing each other in the game on an annual basis since 2001.
