Carey Pac-12 Player of the Week and Adams Mountain West Player of the Week

LAS VEGAS (Oct. 23, 2013) – The Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl continues its third season of conducting weekly Facebook player-of-the-week polls, driven by fan votes, recognizing exemplary on-field play within the two Bowl affiliated conferences, the Pac-12 and Mountain West.

The SEVEN Magazine Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl Pac-12 and Mountain West Player of the Week for week 8 are:

SEVEN Magazine Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl Pac-12 Player of the Week
Ka’Deem Carey, Junior, Running Back, Arizona (Pleasanton, CA/Foothill HS)
Carey picks up his fourth career Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl Pac-12 Player of the Week after rushing for 236 yards and one touchdown on a school-record 40 carries in Arizona’s 35-24 win over Utah. It was the 15th time in his career that he has rushed for over 100 yards and he has recorded over 150 all-purpose yards in the last nine consecutive games. Carey is the first Wildcat to be honored this season.

SEVEN Magazine Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl Mountain West Player of the Week
Davante Adams, Sophomore, Wide Receiver, Fresno State (Palo Alto, CA/Palo Alto HS)
A first-time winner, Adams caught eight passes for 221 yards and four touchdowns in Fresno State’s 38-14 win over UNLV. His four receiving TDs match a Mountain West single-game record and his 221 yards are the most by a MW receiver since 2009. He opened the game by catching a 75-yard scoring pass from Derek Carr, which is the longest play from scrimmage this season for the Bulldogs. He is the fourth different Bulldog to pick up the SEVEN Magazine Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl Mountain West Player of the Week honor.

Each week, players from both the Pac-12 and Mountain West conferences will be selected for nomination and then posted for voting. All college football fans are welcome to cast their vote starting on Monday each week for Player of the Week at www.facebook.com/lvbowl.
