LAS VEGAS - As a part of its 20th year celebration, the MAACO Bowl Las Vegas began a new tradition by conducting weekly Facebook player of the week polls, driven by fan votes, recognizing exemplary on-field play within the two Bowl affiliated conferences, the Pac-12 and Mountain West. Due to the Pac-12 Championship Game, this week fans were only able to vote for the MAACO Bowl Mountain West Player of the Week who is:

Freshman wide receiver Josh Doctson had a break-out game with a season-high 129 yards receiving off only three catches, two of which went for touchdowns, helping the Cowboys close out the season with a victory over rival Colorado State.
''Our first year of MAACO Bowl Las Vegas Player of the Week fan polls came to a close this week and I find it fitting that a potential star of the future has won,'' said Tina Kunzer-Murphy, MAACO Bowl Las Vegas executive director. ''Josh Doctson's breakout performance Saturday was deserving of the recognition, providing us a glimpse into what we might see next year from Cowboy football, continued future success.''
Each week throughout the season, players from both the Pac-12 and Mountain West conferences were selected for nomination and then fan polls were placed on the Bowl's Facebook page allowing fans to vote for their favorite or most deserving player.
