LAS VEGAS - Fans will be pleased to know that tickets for the city's annual postseason college football game, the Pioneer Las Vegas Bowl, will go on sale to the public Monday, July 2.

The game will be played on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2007, at Sam Boyd Stadium beginning at 5 p.m. PST. Prices are $20, $30, $50 and $100 and can be reserved by phone at (866) 388-FANS or online at www.unlvtickets.com. Group & Corporate Package info is available by phone at (702) 732-3912.

"College football fans are driven by their love of sports and a passion for the game. It's for these sports and entertainment junkies that we continually strive to develop entertainment products that bring the same level of intensity when they're watching the big game at home," said Russ Johnston, executive vice president of marketing and product planning for Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc.

The 2007 Pioneer Las Vegas Bowl game also premieres an abridged name and updated logo.

The Pioneer Las Vegas Bowl, which is an ESPN Regional Television (ERT) owned-and-operated event, will once again be broadcast nationally on ESPN and ESPNHD and feature the No. 1 pick from the Mountain West Conference vs. the fourth- or fifth-place team from the Pacific-10 Conference.

"We have a new day to play on, a shorter name, and what is also new is a tremendous interest in tickets early in the year," said Pioneer Las Vegas Bowl Executive Director Tina Kunzer-Murphy. "With two consecutive sell-outs, fans are now realizing they better get their seats as soon as possible for what has become a big year-end party in Las Vegas."

Last year, the 15th annual Pioneer Las Vegas Bowl marked the event's second-consecutive sell-out and the 44,615 fans in attendance represented the largest crowd to ever watch a team sporting event in the state of Nevada. With Sam Boyd Stadium filled to see BYU defeat Oregon 38-8, the game ranked No. 1 among all 32 college postseason bowls for attendance by percentage.
